We’ve had an eventful November at Writesonic, with five major updates shipped and brand new GEO research that’ll bring you one step closer to understanding LLM citation patterns.
This month brings clarity on why your content isn’t getting cited, visibility into what’s working for competitors, permissions that protect your workspace as you scale, and two agency features that transform how you demo and deliver GEO services.
Let’s get into it.
Fresh GEO Research From the Team
Our Head of Content has been doing some valuable research on AI search by analyzing 282 million AI platform citations across 18 industries and 8 LLMs. Here’s what she’s found so far:
- Industry doesn’t determine what content gets cited. The formats that drive most citations, like listicles, category hubs, and how-to docs, perform similarly whether you’re in Technology, Healthcare, or Agriculture. This means the fundamentals work everywhere and you don’t need a dedicated playbook for each industry.

- Brand prompts impact citation patterns. When users search with your brand name instead of generic terms, listicles drop 37% while review content surges 637%. Press releases double their citations and comparison pages nearly triple, revealing you need different content for awareness versus evaluation stages.

Stay tuned. We’ve got more research dropping in the coming months.
We Levelled Up Our Action Center With Content Optimization
Coming to our product updates, we just released the Content Optimization feature in our Action Center.
Content optimization scans your indexed pages and shows you exactly what’s preventing your pages from getting cited by AI.
Every issue, from missing tables to vague key points, is color-coded by urgency:
- 🔺 Critical (fix now)
- 🟡 Important (fix soon)
- 🔵 Enhancements (nice to have)
You can fix already existing content and still see major improvements in your citation rate, without publishing anything new.

Competitor Insights Are Now One Click Away
Domain Overview is officially live. You can now click on any domain inside your AI Visibility dashboard and instantly see a full breakdown of how that site performs across AI platforms.
You’ll get trends, top-cited pages, the prompts that trigger those citations, and the topics each domain dominates, all in one clean view.
It’s the fastest way to understand why certain competitors keep getting cited (and where you can outperform them).
Open your AI Visibility dashboard → click any domain → explore the full overview.

Control Who Sees What in Your GEO Workspace
If more people are jumping into your GEO workspace, you don’t have to give everyone full access anymore. With Role-Based Access Control, you decide who sees and who can change what.
Currently, there are four roles:
- Owner: Has full control of the entire workspace, including billing, settings, and every project. There can be only one owner.
- Super Admin: Can manage all projects and users, just like the Owner. For teams that require multiple people to have owner-level access.
- Admin: Can only see and manage the specific projects they’re assigned to.
- Member: Can view insights and work on prompts, topics, and tags without touching configurations.
It’s a simple way to keep your AI search setup organized and protected as more people join your team. Now live for all Business and Enterprise users.

Two New Agency Features Make GEO Easier to Sell and Deliver
Agencies get two big upgrades this month, both designed to make pitching GEO smoother and delivering it to clients a lot cleaner.
Pitch Projects: Your Own Dedicated Demo Spaces
You don’t need to set up all client demos in your main AI search workspace anymore.
Pitch Projects let you create temporary GEO environments built specifically for client pitches.
Each one gets its own prompts, competitors, markets, and setup, so you can walk into a demo with a tailored environment for client brands. And it all expires automatically so your dashboard doesn’t stay cluttered.

White Labelling: A Fully Branded Client Experience
For agencies that want to pitch Writesonic as their own generative engine optimization platform, White Labelling lets you bring the entire platform under your own brand.
Add your logo, use your own domain, and swap platform mentions with your brand name, so everything your clients see, such as dashboards and reports, feels fully yours.

See You Next Month
That wraps up a very full November.
We’re having a lot of fun building this. Five feature releases, two major research drops, and we’re already deep into what’s coming next. If you’re trying to figure out AI search before your competitors do, we’re trying to make sure you get there first.
Stay tuned for December.
